Welcome! www.tynemouthps.org

Tynemouth Photographic Society is a well-known camera club in the North East of England, founded in 1903. The society is an active member of the Northern Counties Photographic Federation (NCPF) and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). We have won many awards in competitions over the years.

Our meetings bring together people with an interest in photography, no matter what their level of experience. Members photograph a wide variety of subjects, presenting their results either as projected images or as prints. Our competitions, should you wish to enter, have open and advanced sections. Each summer we hold an exhibition of members' prints.

We meet in our own club rooms at 106 & 107 Howard Street, North Shields (map), to which a ventilation system has been added to help with Covid protection. Entry is at street level.

Our special interest groups: Video Film-making, Digital & Practical, Nature, Urban, and Record have separate meetings. One annual membership fee covers membership of all the groups. An informal Afternoon group is also open to all.

For a single annual fee members can participate in all of our meetings, including those of any of our groups, without further charges. If there are refreshments a small payment for those is expected. At the Thursday meetings there is usually an optional raffle. Paid-up members may also enter all of our competitions and get their work exhibited without further charges.

We keep in touch during the summer with outdoor meetings and our newsletter, called Pixelled Post (formerly Film Pack).
